Ta-Da!
It was a race to the finish line but I did it! I was still weaving in ends on the morning of her birthday but she got to wear it for her party. I’m particularly proud of myself as it was the first time I’ve made something from a (particularly confusing) chart and not a written pattern. And just to make it more complicated the original dress is for a much older child so I had to adapt it for a 2year old – which was a LOT harder than it sounds.
The free pattern can be found here.
I LOVE it! What type of yarn did you use?
Errrm. Good question. It was for a 3mm hook and it’s really soft and silky, that’s about all I know 🙂
That is BEAUTIFUL. Breathtaking, infact.
Shucks. Thank you 🙂
You did it! I was wondering 🙂 congrats, it’s beautiful. Hope she had a lovely day.
Thank you! She did have fun but she wasn’t quite sure what all the fuss was about.
Well, it’s my birthday soon, and i think we can safely say, not knowing what all the fuss is about isn’t something I grew out of 😉 Glad she had fun though!
What a lovely pattern. You did a very nice job!
Beautiful! Great job 🙂
Blessings,
Kate
Beautifully done!! I have been away and just now logged on – the first thing I did was to see how you had made out. WOW – from a chart, adjusting size, racing to meet a deadline – you are amazing 🙂 I know I could not have done it under these conditions – maybe not even with more time, not figuring out size adjustments, etc. I have difficulty working from charts and usually give up, looking for written patterns instead. Congratulations on creating a gorgeous dress for your daughter.
Hi. Thank you so much, I’m really happy with how it turned out. I usually shy away from charts too but I LOVE some of the Japanese designs so I figured it would be worth trying to learn. They still confuse the hell out of me.
I have just looked up the charts to see what you are talking about…where do you even start?
The dress is amazing! Well done.
Thanks! It’s really worth trying to learn the charts if you like the Japanese designs. But it can be extremely frustrating too.
It’s incredibly beautiful!
how did you alter it? thats what gets me caught up all the time, i really wish there was a tutorial on how to alter the sizes
Unfortunately it was rather difficult, I can’t believe it even turned out. I think you really need a PHD in mathematics to alter crochet patterns.
How do we get to the pattern?
This is the most beautiful little dress.
Wow! I was searching for the perfect project to make for my 2 year old. I saw this and my search is over! Thank you!
What a wonderfull dress you’ve made!
I tried to find the pattern through your link, but it appeared the pattern isn’t online anymore in English. Is it possible to receive the pattern through you?
I will be very greatfull 🙂
With kind regards,
Rian
Unfortunately there is no written pattern for this, just a chart.
Please, it is an amazing dress. Could you share the chart? I would try it in a soo very stylish top . Thanks!!
