Beautiful bonnet, thanks so much for sharing the pattern!
Love this!!!!
I saw this on Ravelry and immediately added it to my queue! It^s so cute. I’ll try to make it with a smaller yarn/hook and see how it works out. Thanks for the free pattern 🙂
Just took a look at your blog. Love your work! I like the little ducky 🙂
I love your work!!!! So beautiful!
So lovely! May I have permission to sell items from this pattern? I will share this link when posting items for sale. Thank you!
No worries! Thanks for asking.
Stunning! I came across this pattern by accident today and my jaw dropped. I just realized that I also made the other bonnet you have posted. I would also like to ask your blessing to sell this bonnet with credit to you for the design.
Thank you! Your most welcome to sell this bonnet 🙂
Also wondering what yarn you used if you dont mind sharing. 🙂
No worries. It was ‘Moda Vera Bamboo Cotton’. I purchased it from Spotlight but if you don’t live in Australia I’m not sure where you would get it from. It’s Lovely soft yarn and a dream to work with. I stumbled upon them on sale for $1 each and I bought the entire lot!
Could you give finished measurements or a gague for this? I tend to crochet pretty tight so I want to make sure I’m on the right track before I start. Thanks!
I also crochet really tight. I am using worsted weight yarn (Lion brand pound of love) and a metal hook in size I (5.5 mm) to make a bonnet for 0-3 month size. (I tend to crochet looser when I use a plastic hook, I think the yarn doesn’t slide across it as easily so I don’t hold the thread as tight…)
Help! When it says “ch 2 in next sc” in Round 2, what does that mean? How do you chain in a sc? I’d consider myself an average crocheter but cannot figure this out even looking at the pictures. I’d love to make this for my daughter’s blessing next week but can’t get it.
Hi. Sorry, stupid mistake, I’ve fixed it up for you.
Hi beautiful bonnet.can you help in round 3 I’m stuck do you mean on where to do sc and is the ch 1 left empty or do I do 2 sc in the ch 1 and ch2 and is the st just in front of cluster classed as top of cluster stitch.sorry please help I’m new to crochet.is a 4mm hook ok for a 3mnth old baby? Thanx nicola
The most beautiful hat I have EVER made!! I was searching for a pattern after dinner but come across yours instead, couldnt wait to start and 2 hours later, i have completed the stunning bonnet! I am following your blog now as your work is beautiful!! Thankyou so much for sharing your gorgeous work. Congrats on the pregnancy also!
Thank you! I’m glad my pattern is getting so much use. It makes me happy that so many people appreciate it.
Thank you so much for the lovely pattern! I just made whipped one up and I love the way it turned out. Perfect! Thank you! Thank you!
I’m glad you like it 🙂
GORGEOUS. Thank you a million times for sharing! Now I’m just hoping my sis is having a girl….or I just might have to make one to have on hand for a gift!!! 🙂
Question, in “R5”, does the first ‘chain 3’ count as one of the 4 DC? In other words, would I start this round by chaining 3, then 3 DC, then 4 the rest of the round? thank you in advance 🙂
Hi….me again lol! In R5,I will end up having 10 groups of “4 dc in each ch 2 space”. Is that correct counting? Hoping I havent added or taken stitches away
LOVE IT!!! Super easy, fast! I adjusted just a little to center over the shell. One of my favorites!
Hi, just wondered if anyone could help? Have gone to do round 6 twice now but I only have 40 sc so can’t sc in first 36 then leave 11. Have unpicked back to round 3 and definitely have 12 puff stitches but can’t seem to increase enough on round 4, only have 10 2 ch spaces but think I should have 12? Any help much appreciated! xx
Figured it out! There’s a mistake in the pattern. The portion to repeat in R4 should read, “*skip next 2 sc. dc, ch2, dc in SAME sc* (making a V stitch). It currently says in NEXT sc, which doesn’t make a V and messes up the stitch count. If you do the two double crochets coming out of the SAME stitch (with two chains inbetween) you’ll have the 36+11 needed for R6.
Thank so much for this! I’ve been meaning to figure this out but I’ve been so, so sick I just haven’t been able to do it. Much appreciate!
Can anyone tell me the number of stitches in each rnd? I see the 12 puffs in the beginning, then after that there are none! Thanks! 🙂
Love this crochet bonnet. Very well written. I made it in a hr and a half. Thanks for sharing.
ps. I added the 2 extra rows around the brim.
This is my favorite baby bonnet! Want to double check that it s okay ffor me to sell the hats I’ve made with your pattern online if I link back to your page – I usually create my own, but this pattern is so fantastic – and this fit is amazing.
No worries! Go for it.
thank you for being so generous
Just completed one and added it to the Flickr group. Thanks so much for the lovely pattern!
I thought I’d mention that you might want to clarify in round 5 that after you do the first chain3, to only do 3 dc in the first ch2 space since the chain 3 counts as your first dc – then move on to doing 4 dc in each ch2 space. 🙂
Just uploaded my finished bonnet to the Flickr group! Thank you for sharing this darling pattern!
I did want to comment that you might want to clarify that in round 5, you only do 3 DC in the first ch 2 space because your ch 3 counts as your first DC – then you continue on to do 4 DC in each following ch 2 space. 🙂
Thanks so much for this pattern 🙂 It’s realy beautifull and easy to make. Hope I can sell this bonnet with a credit to your link 🙂
Yes, that’s fine. Thanks for asking 🙂
Thank you so much for generously sharing! This pattern makes an absolutely lovely bonnet.
Thank you 🙂
This is the best pattern for a bonnet that i’ve ever seen! would consider doing a video tutorial on it?
Hi Christina. Unfortunately, I’m not so good at the video tutorial thing. I don’t even have a video camera.
Thank you for sharing this pattern. I made a very beautiful bonnet using it; and it’s the first hat I’ve ever made for our baby. Thank you very much; lotta loves from Istanbul 🙂
I’m so glad you like it! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
I love this pattern, I just made it in a bout an hour and it turned out beautifully! May I have permission to sell a few online? I would post the link back to your pattern.
Adorable! I’m going to try your pattern for an upcoming baby shower gift.
This patern, I love it! Thank you very much! I made the French translation, can i post it on my blog?
Of course!
I’ve seen this beautiful bonnet on Pinterest forever, I would love to make this for my toddler. Any tips for 18-24 month size?
Thanks for the pattern! I just made it in about 20 mins. for my friends baby 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, glad you like it.
The first step confuses me SO MUCH! Yarn over and insert hook into what stitch?
That’s just the instructions for the puff stitch. The pattern begins with the chain 4 underneath the puff stitch instructions.
So glad I found this pattern. Hubby and I will be doing a newborn shoot and I wanted a classic looking bonnet for it… this fills the bill. Thanks for providing something pretty!
No worries 🙂
What a beautiful pattern, I made this for a friend of mine for her newborn and she loved it! Would you allow me to sell items from this pattern if I share your link?
Yes 🙂
Love this pattern! Made one for my 4 month old daughter and it’s lovely. I want to make one for my 2 year old niece. Any suggestions on how to adjust the pattern? Thanks!
You could try using a bigger hook and thicker yarn maybe. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
What a beautiful pattern! May I have permission to sell items from this pattern?
Thank you so much!
Yes
I just love this bonnet, I want to make it for two of my grandchildren, but I’m not good at all when it comes to reading a pattern. I read in a earlier post, someone asked you if you had a video, (I’m more of a visual person). Did you get a camera yet? Did you make a video?
I’m still working on it. Sorry.
Hi there! I am wanting to make the 6 month old bonnet, but I don’t see where you differentiate the two. But you list the two. Am I missing it? thank you so much!
There is currently only a newborn pattern (0-6 months)
THANKS for sharing the pattern… I love this bonnet… Have it in so many colours now…
🙂
Love this…. thank you so much for sharing!
